When I was in computer support...

A lot of people said a lot of things to me (not all complimentary) when I was in I.T.

We all developed a thick skin in the support department. Someone once said to me "they give the impression they don't like you. It's not that, but they feel the same dealing with you as when they go to the dentist. In other words, they only speak to you when they have a problem..."

No wonder I've decided to write a novel. Anything has to be easier than spending 22 years listening to people moaning about their failing computer systems. Also, people never really say what they mean.

I've attached a little chart showing typical phrases that our computer users would say, and in red I've entered what we thought they were REALLY saying. I'd be interested to hear your comments and if you have any more phrases to add.
